Hi everyone,
Overall, 44 players gathered across three tournaments to roll some dice together and bring new lists to the table. Two of these events produced clear, undisputed winners, which, much like in previous months, fortunately spared us from all the calculations around tiebreakers and Strength of Schedule (SoS).
As usual for our international readers, a quick note: even in June, German tournaments are still mostly played in a compact format with only a few rounds. As a result, Strength of Schedule (SoS) continues to play an important role in case things get close at the top. All the nicer when, as in two of these cases, a player can take the lead outright without any need for spreadsheet math.
All in all, it was a solid month with exciting games, varied lists, and two fairly clear winners.

First place was claimed by Sipherion with the City States, defeating on Echelon and Melee two nearly identical Hundred Kingdoms Order/Feudal lists, and in between making that exact matchup work on Forlorn Hope against a Yoroni Kitsune Fu spam list.City States [2000/2000]

In the first game he faced Nauth with Order/Feudal (Forlorn Hope). Rahim had a few lucky moments in this match but was also able to make important decisions that allowed him to apply early pressure. Over several rounds, he managed to hold mission objectives steadily and secure key positions. In the end, he came out on top in a close game with a small points advantage.
In the second game he played against Marie with Speakers (Bulwark), who played very cleanly and put Rahim under early pressure. Objective control in particular kept the game tight for a long time, as both sides repeatedly traded important positions. In the end, better stability on the objectives decided the game in Rahim’s favor.
In the third game Rahim faced Handnerdskunst (Echelon) with a strong Nords Jotnar list. Rahim started strong and was able to secure key objectives early and build up points. After that, the game developed into a very hard-fought exchange in which both sides suffered heavy losses. Despite a strong counterattack, Rahim held onto his early lead and narrowly brought the game over the finish line before the Jotnar wiped out the Yoroni.

Conquest of Asgard 4
In parallel to Bedburg, there was also a tournament in Aschaffenburg in the deep south. Unfortunately, there were again some dropouts due to illness, but despite that we still had 16 players.

I was able to win the tournament. If Nicole had won one more game, the entire top three would have been in women’s hands. As it stands, Lena secured a well-deserved second place with her W’adrhŭn, finishing with two wins and one draw.
I myself managed a narrow win in game 1 against Winter Weaver with D4 RR6 Dread Trees on Breakout. This was followed by two very clear victories: one against City States in Melee and one against Yoroni in Head-to-Head.
This was mainly due to the fact that Sorcerer Kings are currently by far the least represented faction in Germany.

Closing remarks
June is very much marked by the transition into the summer break. With the start of the school holidays in the northern German states, things will likely become a bit quieter on the tournament map in both June and August. Many groups pause their activities, which makes it all the more worthwhile to look south: just south of Stuttgart, Maphi is still organizing a tournament in Wolfschlugen. In southern Germany, the summer holidays traditionally start a bit later, which means there is still plenty of gaming going on there while other regions are already heading into the break.
We ourselves are not planning to attend, as the distance of over 8 hours of driving is simply a bit too far for us and planning during the holidays is a bit different anyway. Nevertheless, the event comes with a clear recommendation: Maphi, as in Winnenden, runs very well organized and carefully structured tournaments. If you are from the area, you should definitely stop by, and feel free to send the young man my regards.
