Hello everyone,
Almost all of Germany is on summer holiday, and with the sweltering heat, many people simply weren't motivated to roll any dice. All of Germany? Not quite! Down in the south, a handful of brave warriors still gathered in Wolfschlugen to cross blades at the 5th Schwaben Conquest.
As always, a quick note for our international readers: German tournaments are still typically run in a compact format with only a few rounds. As a result, Strength of Schedule (SoS) continues to play an important role whenever the final standings are close. All the better, then, when a player can claim the top spot outright without the need for any tiebreak calculations, as happened twice at this event.
