Tournament Battlereport 1. Eroberung der Scheune: Game 2 Hundred Kingdoms vs Hundred Kingdoms

Overview
Game 1
Game 2
Game 3

Game 2 with Grind them Down was supposed to be a very advantageous scenario for my list and I went into the matchup with corresponding positivity. Then I saw Lars and I knew Lars was playing Spire. Something died inside me and Lars quickly explained to me that he had sworn off the hideous aliens and was playing brave Hundred Kingdoms. His remorse and insight should be a model for all the nasty aliens who have brought nothing but grief and suffering to EA for centuries. I also prefer playing against all other factions rather than Spire.

Covocs Hundred Kindoms:
== Warlord Mounted Noble Lord [180]: Olefant's Roar, Weapon Master, Tip of the Lance
* Mercenary Crossbowmen 3 [105]:
* Mounted Squires 3 [155]: Veterans Clash, Standard Bearer, Count Palatine
* Household Knights 3 [190]: Veterans Clash, Standard Bearer, Tourney Champion
* Household Knights 5 [310]: Veterans Clash, Standard Bearer, Tourney Champion

 == Warlord Priory Commander Crimson Tower [165]: Armor of Dominion, Long Lineage
* Order of the Ashen Dawn 4 [325]: Standard Bearer
* Order of the Crimson Tower 3 [215]: Standard Bearer

 == Imperial Officer [85]: Fire First, Aim Later, Aim For the Head, Tactical 1
* Mercenary Crossbowmen 3 [105]:
* Hunter Cadre 3 [165]:

I like the list and would really worry about Head to Head, for example. because he has more reach than me and probably gets to the field earlier. In game 3, this was also supposed to spell doom for someone with a similar list to mine, but luckily we played Grind Them Down.

He gets everything in round 1 and only one crossbow doesn't work for me. We position ourselves nice and wide and outside of 23" so that the other one can come. Only his squires do things to threaten me and immediately go into my ranks with Move Charge in round 2. They get shot because I have nothing else anyway can do. On the positive side, it should be mentioned that everything comes in round 2 and with only one regiment of Household Knights. His riders marched up in the middle and right and left our two officers on the left flank to play alone. Thanks to the forest and Fire and Advance + Double time I was sure that I would make the decision in the long run, but the whole cavalry was a bit worrying. I wanted to pass this problem on to the Ashen Dawn and brought in my non-veterans far left and in the middle. We both scored 4: 4.

Round 3, I have three heavies and Lars has all the rest except Crimson Tower. I had more cards and staggered my shooters nicely so he wouldn't just break through. Then came his Ashen Dawn and they appeared on the far right of the thick Household Knight block with Lord. The obvious plan was to clear me from the side and when he realized that he would never hold my right zone that round he postponed the plan until the following round. At some point the three Household Knight veterans went into my crossbows. They didn't kill them completely, so the first Ashen Dawn marched up right behind them and the second ones right next to them, after my Household Knights had made way. My Lord jumped back again and directly behind them the first Crimson Towers with Commander marched up. Otherwise, countless crossbows flew around and one of his regiments lost two stands. 11:11

On turn 4, my activations dominated the game and I wiped out his front Household Knights with the Ashen Dawn. This meant that his 5 Household Knights had to activate early with Noble and are in my Crossbows. They burst and when the second Ashen Dawn counterattacked, exactly one knight remained standing. I accepted that and decided to leave this blocking unit where it was. They couldn't refuse and I just positioned myself for the next round. My commander switched to a regiment of Household Knights and the second ones made a move charge against the Hunter Cadre. It had already received 5 damage from several shooting phases and Lars couldn't manage a roll and so I owned four zones with the desired zone. His Ashen Dawn slowly marched forward, got a zone and we went to 20:12

Round 5 we both ignite the Supremacy, I basically let it activate and his Ashen Dawn makes a move charge into my Ashen Dawn and his Crimson Tower charges then the same regiment into the flank. A total of 1.5 monster ponies die and I clear everything from the field in this and the following round except for one Stand Crossbows and 2 Stands Ashen Dawn. Suboptimal scenario, two imperfect decisions and better reinforcements for me are simply too much on the scale and he can't prevent me from winning 56:12.
