Mounted Noble Lord - Unit Guides (english)

Mounted Noble Lord
with horse and shield and therefore more impressive and better?

Overview

Stats like on foot, only with +2 movement, +1 attack, +1 wound, a shield (D4!), 3 impacts and brutal impact 2. That's quite okay for a 30points pony that he also has the Mounted Squire being able to have as a mainstay is the icing on the cake. That and the fact that the faction has more damage and hit buffs in the form of items/masterys for cavalry than for infantry makes it almost twice as interesting as the one without a horse. Of course, he can also choose the Weapon Arts, and whether you choose Cleave or Flurry often doesn't make a difference, personally I lean more towards Cleave 1.

In addition to the upgraded profile, his supremacy also changes as soon as he sits on a horse. Then he has "Speed of Horses", which only supports Household Knights, but regardless of their distance from the Warlord or Warband. Each Household Knight Regiment gets +1 Impact and is allowed to repeat 6s on Impacts. A bit inappropriate for the name and due to the poor values, Knights alone is not a selling point. You have to play a lot of Knights and/or Veterans and/or a pumped up Horse Lord to generate really useful results. But if you do that, you get a lot of hits and turn the Household Knights into real fighters. At least if you make them veterans at the same time.

Common Equipment, Retinues and Masteries

Thanks to Olefants Roar and Tip of Lance, he can significantly upgrade a regiment and, for example, offer veterans Household Knights per stand with 4 impacts on the 4 and 5 attacks on the 4 with -1 armor each. The impacts would even be Terrifying 1 and the charge range is 9+1d6". Very popular and super effective because it's simply a mountain of attacks that rain down on the opponent. Otherwise, you can of course also give him the Armor of Dominion or the Mantle for Devout. In both cases the unit becomes more stable, although of course it needs help from a priest with the cloak.

What you should never ignore are the Mounted Squire. A Lord with the boys comes onto the field early and threatens objects very well with 3 Impacts Brutal Impact 2. In addition, the veteran upgrade for the Squire is cheap and with Top of the Lance they suddenly hurt a lot. However, it should always be noted that the Lord only has Movement 7 and makes the Squire slower and as a Warlord he would be at massive risk.

Conclusion: Most popular hero in the Hundred Kingdoms because he can (not necessarily) buff our signature models impressively and is useful even as a non-warlord.
